DDS is searching for a Senior Technical Recruiter, and we know… it may sound weird for a government organization to need a Technical Recruiter. However, I think we are different.

I joined DDS March 2021 to support communications and recruitment - because what we do matters to national security, and getting the right talent is as important as telling the stories. In my previous role, I had witnessed DDSers come together in times of crisis with the know-how to work across the Defense Department and in partnership with other agencies and offices in the federal government. I wanted to be part of the team because I knew it wouldn’t be a boring job. As a new mom, my baby keeps me up at night AND getting the right talent for our growing team -- which right now is a unicorn Senior Technical Recruiter!

DDS has a unique mission unlike any other office within the Defense Department. We go where the work is, we do work that matters, and we surge in times of crisis. We move quickly, which is not the norm for other government agencies. Because of this, we are organized to quickly bring in new talent, hiring world class engineers, security experts, designers, and data scientists. Everyone on our team serves two-year terms, which allows us to continually bring in new talent with diverse backgrounds representing the many different communities that exist in this country. This allows us to hire more quickly than what is usually a very lengthy hiring process in the government. We’ve been recognized by the Defense Innovation Board for how we’re breaking the code on hiring in the DOD!

We need highly technical experts to come in and move quickly and hack bureaucracy. It’s why we exist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense: we are at times the last hope, the only ones coming, and that makes needing the right technical skill sets, talent and mindset even more important.

A Senior Technical Recruiter will help identify our talent gaps and improve our recruiting strategy. We are a growing organization and the person in this role will help shape a diverse, skilled team willing to tackle the toughest challenges within national security. This is an opportunity to shape the talent pool at the highest levels of national security and to impact how technology can support our service members and help save lives.

You may ask, why not just work with a recruiting firm? We are not looking to hire one or two positions. We are constantly on the lookout for the best talent, and we need the best to support the DOD in times of crisis. An in-house Senior Technical Recruiter will help us deliver those capabilities and quickly hone and grow the team as we anticipate future needs, threats and opportunities.

Working at DDS is a fulfilling and meaningful opportunity. Just check out some of what we accomplished during the pandemic. Maybe your dream has been to do something meaningful and serve a tour of duty, maybe take a break from the private sector and get your hands dirty in the public sector. This is the perfect opportunity to do so.

If this speaks to you, then you just might be the One. We promise you won’t find anything like this within the government, and this is YOUR chance to shake things up and build a kick-ass team. Come join us
