It’s Time For Change

Our team includes software developers, engineers, data scientists, designers, product managers, and digital experts from both the private sector and within government. DDS also partners with military services by detailing service members to DDS teams to tackle some of the DOD’s highest priority challenges.

We currently have approximately 80 employees at DDS — a mix of civilian, military, and contractors — spread out across our permanent office spaces.

The Guild System

guilds-penta.png

At DDS, we operate as a "flat hierarchy," with everyone reporting directly to leadership and organized by skill priority into "guilds."

In a common civ-tech team, you may report to a manager who is responsible for overseeing your development, assigning you tasks, and reporting your progress to leadership. In a Guild, these are your personal responsibilities. The other guild members are there to support your work, but the ultimate decisions about time management, leadership interaction, and progress are up to you. DDS uses the Guild System to advocate for personal responsibility, remove interpersonal competition, and encourage everyone to do good work in their own way.

As your term in DDS is limited, you need to strap in and enjoy the chaos. Some things will go your way, some won’t, but nobody will question if you’ve got what it takes to get it done. Click on the placards below to learn more about DDS Guilds.
